The hotel is inside one of the few Art Nouveau buildings remaining in the historic part of the city, and was once the headquarters of the Spanish newspaper 'El Correo Español'. The building dates back to 1890 and it was renovated in 2010. It is important to note that this is a gay-friendly hotel, where guests will find a high degree of tolerance and respect. How to arrive
The hotel is located in the historic city centre, 100 m from the Gran Vía of Madrid, between the famous districts of Chueca and Malasaña. Guests will find restaurants, bars and clubs around 2-5 minutes' walk away. In the local area there are many places to visit within walking distance, including the Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Cathedral, Palacio de la Opera and Palacio Real. The major museums of Madrid can be reached in around 20 minutes' walk. Noviciado metro station is around 100 m away, Atocha railway station is some 2 km away and the Mendez Alvaro bus station is around 3.5 km away. Madrid-Barajas Airport is roughly 16 km from the hotel.
