The hotel is the largest timber-log inn in the Southern Hemisphere. The hotel brings back some of the history of the bygone timber industry with its yellow wood carved interior and stairways. Built entirely out of yellowwood this unique hotel is 3 storeys tall with impressive timber columns supporting the frame. There are large windows offering lots of light in to the hotel's main entrance.
The rooms are very elegantly decorated in keeping with the earthy style of the hotel. All rooms come with a flat screen TV with satellite/cable channels, tea/coffee making facilities and an electronic safe. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bath and a hairdryer. A double bed, direct dial telephone and Internet access are also standard amenities. The air conditioning and heating are individually regulated. Most rooms have a balcony, while those without have a slightly bigger room size.

300 kms to the airport (port elizabeth)
The hotel is perfectly situated in Knysna, just two blocks away from the Knysna Quays waterfront and beach, and 5 minutes' walk to the centre of the small village. Most tourist activities are within walking distance. Knysna waterfront is home to the lagoon ferries, whale-watching boats, many restaurants and tourist shops. George Airport is situated at a distance of approximately 65 km, whilst Port Elizabeth Airport and Cape Town International Airport are roughly 280 km and 450 km away, respectively.
