The restaurant Ember, in keeping with the mod look of the hotel exudes quality and style in both the food (European with Asian touches) and style. It is fine dining experience but without the pain on the wallet.
The hotel retains the original exterior of the original 4 storey walk up shop house cum residence. It is under conservation from a past era in Singapore that is becoming all too rare these days. Painted white it does not hint of the modern interior.
The hotel consists of five shop-houses built in 1929 and features 32 individually designed rooms decked in a mix of classic designer and retro vintage furniture. Guests will find that no two rooms are alike, with everything from furnishings and beds right down to the unique clear glass bathrooms. The hotel also offers two specially designed suites with outdoor baths set in tropical roof gardens that overlook the bright lights and bustling streets of charming Chinatown. The unique, hip, and comfortable rooms are stylish yet truly affordable. The air-conditioned establishment features a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, lift access, a restaurant and Internet access (for a fee).

The hotel is located within the business district of Chinatown. It is a two-minute walk from the Chinatown MRT Station and a short walk away from the nightclubs and restaurants along Club Street. Some nearby destinations are Clarke Quay and Little India which takes about 10 minutes by public transport. It takes about 10 minutes to travel by car to Fort Canning Park and Thian Hock Keng Temple. Travelling by car, it is 30 minutes from Singapore Changi Airport (approximately 37 km) and 10 minutes from Singapore Cruise Centre.
