This hotel comes highly recommended, it is one of Zermatt's loveliest four star properties. It is also particularly suitable for young families as it has a large childrens' play room.
It is actually quite a modern building, but it is traditional in style with plenty of exposed woodwork and intricate detailing.
The medium sized lobby is wonderfully elegant with beautiful carved woodwork and a pale tiled floor. There is also a small seating area.

The rooms are beautiful. They are all different shapes and sizes (on average they are large though) and the decoration varies from room to room. Overall, though, the style of the rooms is a fine balance between rustic and more elegant traditional Swiss styles. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition.

200 kms to the airport (cointrin international airport)
Centrally located, the mountain transport stations for the Sunegga-Rothorn and Gornergrat ski regions some 200m from the hotel. The ski run ends just 100 metres from the hotel. The electro-bus stops directly in front of the hotel. Zurich International Airport is the nearest major airport.
