This hotel was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the Georgian style. Carefully renovated in 2005, this hotel has a total of 50 rooms of which 3 are suites, spread over 2 floors. The historical hotel lies amidst grounds spanning 180 hectares that include a golf course. Facilities include an elegant reception area with a safe, a 24-hour service and a lift. By road, junction with A 1 (M). At roundabout take the 1st exit, then join the A 1(M) motorway, signposted Newcastle. Stay in the left-hand lanes at junction 65, then continue forward onto the A1, signposted Gateshead, Newcastle. Continue forward along the Gateshead Western Bypass, Newcastle Western Bypass continue forward onto the A1. Entering Newcastle Upon Tyne, branch left, signposted Coldstream, then merge onto the A697. Continue forward onto the A697, and entering Longhorsley. By rail, Newcastle station provides a service to Morpeth, 10 minutes' drive from the hotel.

This hotel enjoys a peaceful and secluded location in the county of Northumberland on the border with Scotland. Due to its convenient location close to the A697, the closest largest town of Morpeth is only a 10-minute drive away. Shops and other entertainment attractions are all located in the centre. Transfer to Newcastle Airport takes about 25 minutes by car. Northumberland National Park is situated in the proximity of the hotel.
