Ideally situated in one of the most beautiful valleys of Madeira. Estalagem do Vale consists of a XVIII century manor house of great historical value, which has been to appreciate the views of Sao Vicente set against a contrasting backdrop of huge mountains that end as they descend towards the deep blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
The forest of the valley of Sao Vicente is part of the Laurisilva or forest of Lauraceas madeirense, today a UNESCO World Heritage Nature Site, because of the rare and richness of its flora of the Tertiary Period. The wide horizons, sun-drenched location and surrounding nature create a perless setting of uncommon beauty.
The rooms all come with an en suite bathroom. Further fittings provided as standard include a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, an Internet connection, a small fridge, a double or king-size bed, and either a balcony or terrace. The air conditioning and heating are centrally regulated.
In the outdoor complex guests will find a swimming pool with a children's paddling area and a poolside snack bar as well as sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use. Furthermore, guests are able to unwind in the indoor pool, the sauna, the hot tub, the solarium and the Turkish steam room. It is also possible to play miniature golf, croquet, or bowling, while sports enthusiasts may enjoy a work-out in the gym.

How to arrive
The Estalagem do Vale is approximately 30 km. from Funchal Internacional Airport and around 20 km. from Funchal.
From Funchal, you join the Cota 200 (Expressway) in the direction of FUnchal-Ribeira Brava. On arriving in Ribeira Brava, you go up to Serra d´Água, from where there are two possible routes to Sao Vicente: the Encumeada road or the Túnel do Norte. On arriving in Sao Vicente, you travel for a further 2 km before reaching the hotel.
