Renovated in 2009, the hotel is housed in what was once the private home of a wealthy local merchant. The building has been sympathetically restored, preserving the grand feel of a bygone era and is based around a grand Victorian stone building with ornate ceilings. The lounge and reception area is dominated by a 7.6 m high stained glass window which tells the story of Abraham Altham's life and work in the Burnley area. This country house establishment comprises a total of 51 rooms including 6 single rooms, 45 double/twin rooms and 1 suite all spread over 4 floors. Facilities on offer to guests at the hotel include a lobby with a 24-hour check-out service, currency exchange facilities, a bar and a restaurant. Quills Restaurant offers a fine selection of English, French and vegetarian dishes, all freshly prepared using local produce wherever possible. Guests arriving by car should take the M65 heading towards Burnley. Come off at Junction 12 and take the third exit at the roundabout following signs for the A682, Nelson, Brierfield. After a short distance there is a small roundabout next to a B&Q store. take the first exit onto the A682 and follow the road for a short while. At the next roundabout take the second exit on to the A682 signposted to Burnley. Continue along this road for 1 mile, The hotel is situated on the left-hand side.
