Carmichaels Restaurant (air conditioned) serves international cuisine and is open for breakfast and group lunches as required. There is a bar for pre dinner drinks. Note: Carmichaels Restaurant is currently closed for dinner until further notice. The Cafe serves light meals and snacks from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. The Outback Barbecue and Grill offers a true Australian Outback experience for dinner (6-9pm) in a verandah style setting and the Desert Oak Cafe offers meals in a relax outback surrounding. For people travelling in pairs, "Sounds of Firelight" is a fantastic exclusive option. Table for two set around a fire under the stars. A superb four course set menu is served accompanied by some of Australia's finest wines. Something very special. Closed November-March due to very hot weather.

With 164 rooms, this resort offers everything guests need to relax after a day of walking and exploring. Here, there are deluxe spa rooms, budget cabins and a grassy campground, as well as a restaurant with sumptuous buffet dinners and a lively tavern. As the sun retreats, guests can join a select few for an intimate, romantic Sounds of Firelight dinner. The resort is about 3 hours from both Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Alice Springs; self-driving is a popular option. The drive passes some incredible sites, including Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek and Ormiston Gorge. The Mereenie Loop Road brings guests right to the doorstep of the resort.

How to arrive

Located in the Watarrka National Park in Kings Canyon, central Australia. 3 1/2 hours drive from Ayers Rock and 4 hours from Alice Springs. Worth the trip for magnificent scenery and the best way of seeing it is walking around. There is a short 1 hour Creek walk (2.6 kms) or a longer 3/3.5 hours Rim walk (6 kms) offering fantastic views of the Canyon.
