A Cistercian monastery of incomparable beauty in the heart of the Ribeiro country; a genuine 12th century national monument with all the comforts and amenities of the 21st century.
We are much more than just a hotel. Indeed, we are a 12th century Cistercian monastery refurbished as a hotel by the Xunta, the government of Galicia. Our walls are steeped in history. In its origins it was the home of Cistercian monks, later of Benedictine friars and, nowadays, it throws open its doors so that you can revel in the peace and quiet of its cloisters, its cells and the marvellous surroundings, in the heart of the Ribeiro country, in the province of Orense.
The most coveted secret of the Eurostars Monasterio de San Clodio Hotel are the guestrooms, all spacious, facing the exterior, elegantly decorated in harmony with the historical environment, with high ceilings and stone walls and with magnificent vistas over the vineyards and pine woods surrounding the monastery. We have 25 rooms, are so well appointed that you are unaware of really being in ancient, mediaeval cell, with Wi-Fi, satellite TV,mini bar and a fully equipped bathroom.
The tastefully furnished comfortable rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a minibar, a double room and centrally regulated air conditioning.

How to arrive
Make the most of our strategic location to discover other cultural attractions in the region, such as the Monastery of Oseria, known as the Galician equivalent of El Escorial, the Castro of San Ciprián de Lás, the mediaeval Jewish quarter of Rivadavia, the rowing races of Castelo do Miño or the water mills of Carballiño.
Don’t forget another small detail: yes, we are indeed far from the hue and cry, but we are also a mere 10 kilometres from the A-52 motorway (Vigo-Orense-Madrid) and the AP-53 (Orense-Santiago).
