The 422-room city hotel, which was one of the first international hotels to open in the city of Singapore, was renovated in 2006. 24 storeys high, it offers breathtaking views of Orchard Road, as well as three restaurants, a delicatessen and a cosy lobby bar. Meetings and conference facilities together with complete technological and secretarial support services are available for the business traveller. It is fully air-conditioned and has a lobby, 24-hour reception, hotel safe, currency exchange, lift, barber's/hairdresser's, shopping facilities and Internet access (fees apply). There are also room (24 hours) and laundry services as well as parking facilities available (all subject to fees).
Breakfast is served as a continental style buffet. Lunch and dinner are served either as a buffet or as à la carte.
Deluxe Rooms are spacious (27m²) with wireless Internet access and a city view. The bright and airy rooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony, have 1 king-sized bed or 2 single beds, a work desk with easy chair and daily newspaper. All rooms are air-conditioned. Further amenities include a Yukata (Japanese cotton kimono) and slippers, private baths with tubs and showers, direct dial telephone with voicemail and dataport facilities, cable/satellite TV with news, sports and movie channels, ironing set, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, mini-fridge and a safe. With guests' security in mind, access to all guest floors and rooms are controlled via an electronic keycard system.
Recreational facilities include a rooftop swimming pool located on the 24th floor surrounded by lush landscaped tropical foliage and offering a magnificent view of the bustling Orchard Road. The hotel also has a fitness centre which features a fully-equipped gym, aerobic studio, sauna and steam room. Use of these facilities is complimentary for all hotel guests, and personal training programmes are available. Further relaxation comes in the form of a massage treatment room (fees apply).

Conveniently located on fashionable Orchard Road and in the heart of Singapore's shopping, entertainment and commercial district, the hotel is a leisurely 20-minute drive from Changi International Airport, a 5-minute walk from the Orchard Mass Rapid Transit Station (underground rail network), and is easily accessible via taxis or buses right to its doorstep. It is a 5 -10 minute walk to several shopping centres: the Forum, Far East Shopping Centre, Wheelock Place, Tangs and Shaw House which also houses a multiplex cinema. Botanic Gardens, theatres on the Esplanade, Merlion Park, Fort Canning Park and The Asian Civilisation Museum all just a 5-10 minute drive away.
