Housed in a building that dates back to the 19th century, this hotel comprises a total of 80 rooms spread over 6 floors. The hotel underwent complete refurbishment in September 2004, transforming it from a typically Victorian establishment to one that is both modern and contemporary. It is considered one of the best hotels in Harrogate, offering beautiful décor, ambience and award-winning customer service. With its many new features in addition to the friendly and professional service, the hotel always allows guests to spend an enjoyable leisure or business stay. Facilities include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a cloakroom, lifts, a café, a pub and an air-conditioned restaurant with highchairs for infants. Moreover, it is possible to dine in the Hg1 bar and brasserie, which is a popular venue amongst both guests and local residents. The brasserie serves a wide variety of fantastic dishes and drinks, all freshly prepared using the finest ingredients. The exterior is a typical 5 storey Victorian building, the interior (following a refurbishment in 2004) is fresh and contemporary - retaining its original elegance, yet offering all the modern amenities expected. Freshly prepared with the finest ingredients, the Brasserie's menu offers you an extensive menu of both regional and international dishes while the Bar is full of options from light bites to more substantial bar snacks. This is very popular with local residents too.
Follow the A1(M) south as far as the junction signposted the A59 for Harrogate. Take this exit and follow the signposts to Harrogate and 'Town Centre' to the Prince of Wales roundabout (the tree-lined 'Stray' fielded area is now on your left and in front of you with an 8-storey exclusive apartment building on the right-hand side). Take the third exit at the roundabout, staying in the right-hand lane and continue on this road, passing West Park Church on the right-hand side. Take the second right into Albert Street and immediately right again into Prospect Place.
