The Hotel Vistabella projected by the architect Pelai Martínez, was inaugurated in 1963 and renovated in 2000, becoming the first five star hotel at the Northern Costa Brava.

Positive: We were upgraded to an amazing room as a celebration for our anniversary. It was stunning. Absolutely loved running right from the hotel on the Cami de Rhonda trail! The breakfast spread was also top notch!
Negative: We had deep tissue massages. They asked if it was ok for a trainee to "observe" my massage and I said yes. My massage was great, however right after mine, my husband had his and the trainee did it and it was not very great at all. Not even a soft flush. He gave feedback to the therapist, but it didn't help much. We said something to the front desk and they were not very responsive, almost combative. The next day someone at the front desk asked to speak with us about it and she was very very nice and asked if there was anything we could do. Just difference in the employees I guess! This is our only complaint about our stay - everything else was perfect.
Positive: The location, the view, the rooms, the property were all amazing. The staff were the most incredible helpful staff we had in all of Spain, maybe even the world. Can’t wait to go back

Negative: To claim that this hotel is a 5-star property is an outright falsehood. Please do not get fooled as we did. This is a 3-star property at best, with a nice view. The staff, in general, is poorly trained and rude while some are even outright hostile toward the guests. The facilities are poorly designed and maintained. The decor and furnishings are atrocious. If the designer furnished the hotel with IKEA goods that would be a massive upgrade from the cheap, tasteless, and uncomfortable furnishings that exist everywhere in this hotel, especially in the rooms. I have never been more disappointed in my life. FYI... we booked the penthouse suite for 840 euros/night. What a joke!

Positive: The property was nicely located in that it was easy to walk to the beach but it felt a little more private and off the beaten path. There were great restaurants and the breakfast was one of the best and comprehensive breakfasts that I have had while in Spain. The room was perfectly set up for a family with pull out beds for kids, or adults. The views were spectacular. Overall I would say, just book it already. It is a relaxing resort in the middle of a very busy area.

Positive: Excellent sea front view from the room and balcony. Good breakfast by the sea side. 3 minutes walk to a small beach and 5minutes and 15 minutes walk to two larger beaches, respectively. The staff are friendly and helpful. Had a very enjoyable 2-night stay at the property.
Negative: Had dinners at the two main on-site restaurants two different evenings. The food was good both times. However the service at aMare was slow and we waited more than one hour before the food was served.
Positive: One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Gorgeous views, excellent service, specious room. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on dinning but breakfast was delicious.
Negative: Shuttle to Roses would be helpful for visitors without a car.
