Positive: Location!!!
Negative: Could’ve offered coffee and cream and take away cups? Also some small boutiques offer prosecco or limoncello etc.. would’ve been fun to start our vacation with that but it was a fantastic location and we had the lake view along with the roof top Veranda being a total asset! So glad we stayed there !!!

Positive: Felt like a home rather than a hotel, window views on the lake, and a nice central location.
Negative: Just be prepared for noise at night, wherever you stay in Varenna this applies. Garbage men, couples out past midnight, and animals in the forest can disturb you if you are not a heavy sleeper or struggle to fall asleep. I recommend walking a lot and eating a nice dinner with wine as a solution to this.
Positive: Beautiful good location very roomy. We had 2 rooms in one apartment. Perfect for our family vacation!
Negative: We arrived by train. We couldn’t get a taxi. So we had to take our luggage down the hill. We’re older, so this wasn’t great!
Positive: Really helpful guide to check in and breakfast. Room was clean and spacious, terrace had amazing views of lake. Breakfast was provided at small cafes close to accommodation and the one I chose had good options.
Negative: There is no elevator so if you are unable to use stairs that might be an issue, there are no kitchen facilities except a kettle, microwave and refridgerator in room.
Positive: Much better price than other options in Varenna at the time I booked. Great location. Great view from the roof terrace. Good continental breakfast options with vouchers for a choice of 3 cafes all very nearby and no time restrictions for breakfast. Availability of microwave, electric kettle, corkscrew, wine glasses etc. for shared guest use. Very well documented self check in process (with photos). Hosts very responsive to email and whatsapp communication.
Negative: Rather than "didn't like" I would say things I don't prefer are the shared bath and the lack of any in-person interaction with staff. These features are made very clear in advance, so it is not a criticism just a reality.

Positive: The bed and the pillows are very comfortable. The room is specious. The location is close to metro.
Negative: There is no kettle in the room so I can not make tea. It would be better if there is a millor in the room.
Positive: Very good… It took me a while to realize that to go outside there was a button to push to release the door, rather than using the key!!
Positive: Location was great, the access to the place and ability to leave the luggage in a locker was very convenient.
Negative: Very noisy. The building is old and there is no sound isolation. So if you are a light sleeper, perhaps finding a more renovated building would be a better option.
Positive: Excellent location. Parking garage close by. Lots of character and plenty of space in your room. Shared toilet and shower facility is very clean and spacious.

Negative: Bell tower is right outside the building and is very loud from inside, especially at 7am.
Positive: The host was exceptional. They gave me accurate advice and were even able to tell me about needing a different bus due to road works. The host were so friendly , happy to provide tips and advice where needed but also give you personal space. The apartment was great.
Positive: The room was spacious, the location was central, easy access to all things Varenna. The shared bathroom was no big deal, easy to manage and never an issue.
Positive: This is a room with a shared bathroom and with that knowledge, it was okay, but somewhat cramped for three people. The definite highlight was the rooftop terrace with two large tables and amazing views of Lake Como. This is where we had our complementary breakfast, also a nice touch.
Negative: The room was a little too spartan.
