Xixim Unique Mayan Hotel Description

All meals are served in the Casa Club restaurant. Guests can take time to enjoy the Mexican breakfast every morning. Lunch and dinner can be taken à la carte. A four-course candlelit dinner is prepared for guests every evening. In addition to a variety of delicious meals, the hotel offers fresh fruit juices, seafood omelettes, and the home-made wholemeal Pan Xixim bread. Fresh fish, seafood, Mexican, Yucatan and international dishes are served, always with a vegetarian option. It is possible to book a half-board, full-board or all-inclusive stay.

Renovated in 2005, the hotel comprises a total of 15 bungalows, each one overlooking the emerald Gulf of Mexico. The lobby area has a reception desk manned around the clock, a safe and a currency exchange facility. In the small library containing books in 4 languages, guests can read or watch videos. There is a large choice of cultural and nature films, as well as other entertainment films. Board games are also available. A bar, a games room, a TV lounge and the Casa Club restaurant also count amongst the hotel's facilities. The hotel was built according to strict ecological standards. Guests can expect a unique experience in the relaxing natural environment. The perfect place to relax. In addition, public Internet access is available. Room and laundry services, bicycle hire and a car park round up this hotel's offerings.

The nearest international airport is in Merida, the charming capital of Yucatan state. The hotel is located some 100 km west of Merida. This is a 1.5-hour car drive away. There are a number of options to get to the Merida hotel: 1) For a fee, guests can be collected from the airport. 2) Guests can also take a taxi and be collected for no cost in Celestun. 3) Guests can hire a car in Merida, or finally 4) Guests can use the public transport bus from Merida to Celestun. These depart from the centre of Merida every hour.

The spacious and pleasingly furnished Cabañas (bungalows) feature a large en suite bathroom and hairdryer, and fit in perfectly with the natural surroundings. Above all, guests have a fantastic view over the Gulf of Mexico. Rooms also have 2 queen-size beds, a seating corner with a sofa bad, a desk, a hire safe and a terrace. 2 hammocks and 2 armchairs are available on every terrace. For ecological reasons none of the bungalows are air-conditioned. Instead there are 2 fans, a cleverly constructed air circulation system and a straw roof constructed with Malayan technology, which all serve to ventilate the rooms fully.

In the hotel grounds there is a pool with sun loungers laid out, perfect for relaxation. There is also a massage service. Water sports opportunities include complimentary canoeing. Sports enthusiasts can also try their hand at complimentary table tennis and pool, as well as cycling/mountain biking, in the main building Casa Club. A natural history museum is located next to the reception. There is a stunning view over all the flora and fauna surrounding the hotel. Exclusively designed tours are organised by the hotel. The groups accompanied by professional guides are always very small. Guests are highly recommended a visit to the Pink Flamingo colony.
