From Porto take the A1 motorway to Santarem, then the A13, followed by the A6 towards Evora. From Evora take the IP2 national road to Portel and then the N384 (local road which passes Alqueva Dam) to Moura. From Lisbon, take the A2 (the old bridge ""25 de Abril"") or the A12 (the new bridge ""Vasco da Gama"") to Evora. From Évora take the IP2 to Portel and then the N384 (local road which passes in the Alqueva Dam) to Moura. From Faro take the ""Via do Infante"" motorway, then the A2 to Ourique. Exit the A2 and take the IP2 to Vidigueira. At Vidigueira turn onto the N258 towards Moura. From Spain entering at Rosal de La Frontera, go to Vila Verde de Ficalho, then turn right onto the N385 to Sobral da Adiça and there turn left and take the local road 255-1 towards Moura.

In the golden plains of the west side of the Guadiana river, in the lovely village of Moura, the Hotel De Moura is situated in a building of historical, architectural and artistic value, the ancient convent of the Ordem Hospitaleira de São João de Deus, established in the 17th century and adapted to Grand Hotel de Moura in 1900. The building is a vaulted arched roof construction. The front is covered by decorated ceramic tiles and the balustrade with statuettes and ceramic flower-pots. The interior yard and the central staircase are remarquable elements. The hotel facilities include 24-hour reception, Club Room with bar-cafeteria featuring satellite TV, lounge to read and play chess, courtyard, terraces and functional spaces to realize private events, outdoor swimming pool, Wi-Fi Internet connection, Internet Point, laundry and room services. The hotel staff will be glad to assist guests with information and advices about Moura and its surroundings, to make your stay pleasant and relaxing.

Breakfast is served between 7.00 am and 10.00 am. Lunch and dinner may be served in the hotel for groups (on request beforehand). Guests may enjoy breakfast served to their rooms.

How to arrive

This hotel is located exactly in the middle of the golden region of Alentejo, in the small, whitewashed Moorish town of Moura. The folklore, handicrafts, monuments, history, architecture, cuisine, wine, music and traditions of the region of Alentejo all reflect its remarkable past, during which Romans, Moors and Spaniards successively left their mark. The town centre of Moura is a 1-minute walk from the hotel and within some 100 m guests will find a restaurant. There is a lake around 1.2 km away at the Alqueva Dam and it is 200 km to Lisbon Airport.

    Our stay was very pleasent. We have no complaints at all.

    Positive: Good value for the quality of the hotel, good price range. Good location. The staff are nice and very helpfull.

    Negative: The facade of the hotel already deserved some painting, mainly in the back. Few sunbeads in the pool.
