Cleaning
A very enjoyable Christmas and New Years holiday. The bed was firm but I had, surprisingly, a good sleep every night. The food in the dining room was well presented with an excellent choice and range of items.
I was concerned about fire safety in the hotel as non of the fire doors had self closing springs fitted to them. Also, the door onto the fire escape would not open easily. I showed these things to Maria, the manager on reception. As it stands if fire were to take hold smoke and flames would sweep up the stairs and along the corridors unhindered as non of the fire doors I looked at were capable of closing by themselves. I have reported this to TUI, the hotel and the bomberos. So far, no reply from anyone.
Positive: Spacious rooms, location, restaurant food and staff.
Negative: No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, this needs to be provided even budget hotels provide this level of service. Additional charges to use the safe, this feels mean and penny pinching. 3500 euros for two weeks should include these basic amenities. Fire safety precautions urgently need reviewing, inspections to ensure all fire doors close automatically and all escape doors onto fire escapes open easily. As two friends were killed in a hotel fire in 2017 this cannot be over emphasized.
