The hotel's original ballroom has been transformed into one of Shanghai's premier dining concepts. The cuisine at the Old Shanghai Restaurant will entice guests with the finest contemporary Chinese dishes using the best of Shanghai's seasonal ingredients.
Built by the legendary brothers Mr. Guo Le and Mr. Guo Quan, who also established the top shopping centre in old Shanghai, Yong'an Department Store, this 59-room city hotel has enjoyed a celebrated history since 1985. When it was opened, the hotel justifiably earned a reputation as the highest building (19 floors), the most luxurious entertainment venue and the first ballroom in Shanghai. Renovated in 2010, this air-conditioned establishment welcomes guests in a lobby area with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Further facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange desk, cloakroom, lift access and a café, as well as a supermarket, hairdressing salon, disco, restaurant and conference facilities. Internet access is available in public areas and room and laundry services are provided. Guests arriving by car may leave their vehicles in the hotel car park for an extra fee.
The hotel offers standard rooms, superior rooms and suites. In addition to a private bathroom with a bathtub, shower and hairdryer, they feature Internet access, satellite TV programmes, an international direct dial telephone and a safe. Further in-room amenities include a minibar and tea and coffee making facilities, as well as an iron and ironing board, double bed and centrally regulated air conditioning units. A balcony/terrace also features, and from most rooms guests can enjoy a great view of the prosperous shopping street.
