The Lake District is renowned for its excellent local food and at Lindeth Howe this is no exception. The hotel is proud to extend this reputation by providing only the best locally sourced produce which is available seasonally. The seasonal menus offer a variety of fine foods whatever time of the year you choose to dine. The Restaurant has 2 AA Rosettes and recently won the Lancashire and Lake District Life Magazine's Restaurant of the Year Award - due reward for the Head Chef Marc Guibert's culinary excellence.

Lindeth Howe was built as a Summer Holiday home for a wealthy mill owner in 1879 and was situated on a 28 acre estate. After the death of her father in 1915, Beatrix Potter bought the house for her mother Helen to live in. Today it stands as a classic Lakeland Country House set in 6 acres of its own private garden.

With 34 beautifully appointed bedrooms (from romantic Lake View Doubles to Family Suites) each room is your own luxurious little haven. All rooms are ensuite and have a bath, shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free of charge WiFi Internet connection, hair dryer and a digital flat screen TV with radio. Many of the rooms have either spectacular views over Lake Windermere, the Garden or the Woodland and beyond.

Lindeth Howe sits in the heart of the National Park overlooking the largest lake in the country, Lake Windermere with the Cumbrian Fells beyond. It is located just outside the lakeside village of Bowness-on-Windermere which is largely regarded as the heart of the Lake District. Here you can enjoy the many attractions and shops or take a cruise across the Lake to areas such as Hawkshead, Ambleside and Lakeside.
