The Hurtwood Inn Hotel Description

Travel east from Guildford or west from Dorking along the A25 to Comshall. Turn off the SatNav, take the turning towards Peaslake and continue for approximately 4 km. The hotel can be found at the centre of the village by turning right at the village shop. From Guildford, take A25 from Guildford town centre towards Dorking.

Awarded an AA rosette, Oscars is a quality restaurant with crisp white linen. Dishes are cooked to order using fresh produce sourced from the best the market can provide each day. Sunday lunch is a very popular event where traditional fare is served. The Garden Room and private dining rooms provide the perfect setting for an exclusive meal or celebration. In addition, an extensive selection of wines is available, produced by growers from around the world. Breakfast is served each morning and lunch and dinner are available from set menus.

Originally built in 1920 on the site of 2 cottages so the locals 'had somewhere to buy beer', the hotel takes its name from the whortleberries or 'hurts' which grow locally in the village on nearby Pitch Hill, the site of one of the village's scenic walks. Renovated in 2009, the hotel offers 21 guest rooms and facilities include a restaurant, bar and pub, a lobby with cloakroom, conference facilities and a car park. For an additional fee, guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services.

The guest rooms, all of which are en suite with a shower and bathtub, are individually and tastefully furnished to a high standard to offer a high level of comfort. Some of the rooms have gorgeous views of the village or the gardens and all the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, a telephone and TV, a double bed, hairdryer, radio, Internet access, an ironing set and central heating.
