Built in 1777, this unique country hotel has been awarded many prizes and combines pure luxury with superb services and great facilities. The wonderful Georgian house affords grounds spanning 1,600 m² and is recognised as one of Scotland's A-grade historic hotels. The hotel is privately owned and run by the Russel family. The hotel offers fine food, beautiful surroundings as well as warm Scottish hospitality, creating a unique accommodation option for contemporary guests. Guests are able to enjoy the peace and quiet here, whilst escaping from the stresses and strains of everyday life. There are a total of 30 guestrooms of which 2 are suites and 1 is a wheelchair accessible room. The facilities also include a lobby with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a bar, a restaurant with highchairs for children, a dining room, a conference room, public Internet access, room service and a car park.
Each of the rooms are individually decorated and unique in it's character. All rooms comprise all modern facilities such as an en suite bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries, bath robes, a direct dial telephone, an Internet connection, satellite TV, satellite radio, sherry decanters as well as shortbread on arrival. Carpeting, a double or king-size bed, ironing equipment, a hire safe as well as tea and coffee making facilities are also provided in all accommodation units as standard. Laptops may be hired at reception for use in the guestrooms.

Leisure options include a leisurely stroll through the park, a morning game of golf on the course 5 minutes walk away (Balbirnie Golf Course), horse riding in the afternoon or relaxing with a book from the old library and taking it easy. There are also many other leisure options available within the grounds: golf on a challenging course, jogging paths or woodland walks for nature enthusiasts, as well as points of historical interest such as stone circles and crosses. This hotel is situated in Markinch village, close to Glenrothes, about 30 minutes from Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews and Dundee, at the heart of Fife. It is just 10 minutes on foot to the train station and tourist centre.
