Tax Information
According to tax laws in force in Peru, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners who stay more than 59 days in the country) must pay, at the hotel, an additional tax of 18%, in correspondence with the IGV.
How to arrive
Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located adjacent to the ruins and enjoys a prime position within this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Getting to Machu Picchu
•By train to Machu Picchu Town. Allow three and a half hours from Cuzco. Train service is provided by PeruRail.
•By road to Ollantaytambo, then by train to Machu Picchu Town. Allow three hours. Train service is provided by PeruRail.
•Once in Machu Picchu Town a regular bus service operates between Machu Picchu Town and the Inca ruins where Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located. Allow 20 minutes.
•Guests arriving by train at Aguas Calientes Town must travel by bus (US$15.50 roundtrip) to reach the hotel. This service is available until 3.30pm, guests arriving after this time will need to charter a bus (US$288). All fees are subject to change without notice. •Please note that there are no taxis from Machu Picchu Town to the Machu Picchu Citadel, the only form of transportation is on public buses.
•By foot along the old Inca trail. Allow four or five days.
