Lainston House Hotel Description

The Avenue Restaurant is an intimate, elegant restaurant for lunch or dinner. Extensive, seasonally influenced menu of ostensibly English cooking with a modern twist is complemented every evening with a superb tasting menu tempting all palates and tastes. Coffee can be served at your table or in the drawing room and can be accompanied by a rare Cognac or malt. The Chef's Dining Room, situated in the elegant Mountbatten Room and is ideal for private celebrations and impressive hosting.

A charming 17th Century country house standing elegantly in 63 acres of beautiful Hampshire parkland. As you sweep into the courtyard, delicate archways and loggias frame the picture perfect entrance and a small amble reveals a beautiful 12th Century chapel ruin and pretty dovecote.

The gorgeous beds each have a very comfortable handmade mattress topped with gorgeous duvets wrapped in handmade covers. Each room also has a pillow menu so you can choose the type of pillow to suit you and calming lavender sleep balm is placed on your pillow at turn down.

Get your running shoes on! Pick up a jogging or walk trail map from reception and follow the wooden posts that guide the way, or hop on one of our mountain bikes (we dare you to try the tandem!) and explore the grounds or local lanes that way. You'll find a bench seat by the lower court, under the Yew tree for you to relax and soak up the splendid views. In the evening one may sit quietly and watch the rabbits at play and you might be lucky enough to see a fox trot across the terraces or even some deer. Or for a more leisurely activity than tennis, the croquet and French boule lawns are located just outside the Drawing Room. The activity field is where we organise fun things such as archery, motor sports, clay pigeon shooting, falconry and even duck herding. These activities must be arranged in advance of your stay but at Lainston House almost anything's possible? Let your imagination fly and just ask!
