Restaurant 1779 overlooks the Ironbridge Gorge. The menu is an ultra-modern European mix. The chefs use fresh, locally sourced ingredients as much as possible and keep the regulars guessing with speciality produce dishes every now and then. By car: Leave the M54 at Junction 4, and take the second exit sign-posted A442 Bridgnorth. Take the second slip road leading onto the A442, sign-posted Madeley and Shifnal, Ironbridge Gorge Museum. Get in the right-hand lane for the A442 (avoid the left-lane which goes to Madeley and Shifnal). At the first roundabout, turn right following the brown tourist sign for Telford Golf Club. Pass the Murco garage on the right-hand side, and turn left at the roundabout towards Sutton Heights. After half a mile, turn left onto Great Hay Drive - the hotel is at the end of this road.

Subtle tones have been employed with great effect, contrasting soft latte shades with rich chocolates to create a warm and sensual haven, and throwing in a touch of vibrancy with soft furnishings to add a bit of drama.
