The air-conditioned hotel comprises 137 rooms and a 24-hour reception. There is a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, lift access, a number of restaurants and an Internet centre. Conference facilities are available in the Pavilion conference room, which offers a perfect compromise between cultural sophistication and natural surroundings. It is built in the style of a theatre and has a capacity for up to 100 people. It is fitted with modern audio and video technology, with an office and secretarial service on hand should guests require this. The hotel also has a hair and beauty salon with a wide variety of beauty treatments on offer, as well as a number of massages, pedicures and manicures. Room and laundry services are included in the price and there is a babysitting service especially for children under the age of 12. The hotel also has parking for guests arriving by car.
The restaurant Sands is open all day. It is alfresco and offers regional, Asian and Western dishes. A further beach restaurant also serves Asian and Western dishes. It opens for the 3 main meals of the day. Rhu is a more sophisticated restaurant and has both air conditioning and alfresco areas. It is mainly fish and seafood dishes which are served here, in a combination of Eastern and Western cuisine. A string quartet also plays here. Saffron is a Mediterranean restaurant, where guests are welcome to come during the day. Saffron also has an alfresco area where guests have an undisrupted view of the breathtaking sunsets.
Guests have the choice of 5 categories of rooms. Each room is spacious with a wooden floor and large windows, where guests can enjoy the tropical breeze. The view is either over the beautiful garden, onto the pool or onto the sea. Asian-Eastern influences were used for the décor, with upholstery and fabrics from Thai silks to Indian cotton. All rooms have a large bathroom/shower and hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, a radio, an LCD TV, a DVD and CD-player, as well as a private bar with a coffee machine and a mini-fridge. A room safe is available for guests' use, and the air conditioning is individually adjustable. Rooms in the categories Bayu and Anjung are fitted with Dataport.
The hotel has a fantastic 60 metre long swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and a fully equipped sports hall. Sun loungers and parasols have been laid out ready for use on the beach. Guests can spoil themselves with a full-body aromatherapy massage with scented oils, or try an Eastern variant such as reflexology or the wonderfully energising pressure point massage. The resort only promotes environmental-friendly activities in its recreational programmes. Guests can try their hand at non-motorised vehicles such as water bikes, kayaks, surfboard and the catamaran with G-Kat. The hotel also offers surfing and sailing courses.

How to arrive
The resort hotel is situated at the northern tip of Langkawi, near the Thai border. It is the only resort on this part of the island and can therefore guarantee its guests exclusivity and privacy. Tanjung Rhu has one of the most unique eco-systems in Malaysia. Set in 1,100 acres, a beautiful combination of mangroves, waterways, limestone cliffs and sandy beaches form a nature-lover's paradise. The centre of the town of Kuah on Langkawi is about 30 km away, and the airport is about 30 minutes away. There is also a reasonably-priced transfer service, which leaves daily at set times.
