Tax Information
As of April 1, 2021, VISITAX enters into force to facilitate the payment of the use of foreign tourism. It can be done from the web portal http://visitax.gob.mx/. Foreign tourists may cover it before their arrival or during their stay. As of January 1, 2017, tourists must pay an ISH rate per room and per night of occupancy under the concept of Environmental Sanitation Rights carried out by the municipality. This fee must be paid at the hotel.
How to arrive
We are located in the middle of the Riviera Maya, only 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen, 15 from Tulum and 75 short minutes from Cancun International Airport. The center of Akumal is only two minutes by car or 10 minutes walk along the beach, where one can find, mini-supermarkets, restaurants, bars and other attractions such as the Akumal Ecological Center. All the main day trips are easily accessible by rental car or using public transport, Xel Ha and Hidden Worlds only 10 minutes and Xcaret or Tulum Ruins only 20 minutes away. If your preferred activity is Cave, Cavern or Ocean diving then experience everything with one of our recommended professional dive operators in Akumal.
