The name ?Pousada da Vigia? means ?Watcher?s Inn? and it's an allusion for a local cultural tradition from 250 years ago - witch one is still followed by the local fishermen till the present time - of taking turns to watch the shoal of fishes (mullets specially) from the rocks near to the sea (Watcher Rocks) while the other fishermen stand on the beach watching carefully and awaiting for a sign or a whistle to move their typical boats quickly towards to the sea and then to ?siege? the shoals with their huge fishnets.
The Inn was built as the residence known by the natives as the ?Governor?s House?. The place was totally remodeled and rearranged to offer all comfort to our guests. The reduced number of rooms allows the treatment given to the guests to be customized so they can fell like at home.
The ?Varanda Da Vigia?s Bistro?, witch also has a paradisiacal panoramic view to the ocean, is able to serve complete suppers to our guests.

How to arrive
It?s located in a very traditional fisherman?s beach called ?Lagoinha?s Beach?, at extreme north side of Florianópolis Island (State of Santa Catarina ? Brazil) and it?s surrounded by a wonderful nature: the amazing Atlantic Forest. We are 45 km far from the Airport and 35 km far from downtown. Were the Inn lays, there are various ecological tracks in ?areas of permanent preservation? (?APP´s? ? as we call it). As the inn is next to the sea (it?s on the coast, among the rocks), the access to the sand of the beach is made by a way of more or less 20 meters far. The sea is the clearest, warmest and calmest of the whole island.
The nearest urban centers are ?Canasvieiras? and ?Ingleses? beaches (where you can find more options for restaurants, pubs, services in general) and they are located about 9km far from the Inn.
