Gilligan's Backpacker Hotel & Resort is located in the Cairns city centre. Gilligan's is Cairns' newest and most up-market budget accommodation, offering both tradtional backpacker facilities (with added comforts) as well as private hotel style rooms.
Fully air conditioned, ensuites and king single size beds are standard in every dorm room, whether 4, 6 & 8 share. For those who lap up the luxury, you can enjoy our private rooms that are complete with private bar fridge, television (24hr cable TV),hairdryer,coffee/tea,iron,safe and lounge yet still carry a budget price tag.
On each level there are modern well appointed communal kitchens at one end and you can laze in comfort at the other end in our newly refurbished lounge areas!
Gilligan's also has the largest and best entertainment venue in town. Open 7 days a week, we have 3 Large screens, in house bands performing plus many promotions, and on a weekend we house international DJ's and performance acts.

The hotel is within easy reach of Cairns' shopping centres, galleries, restaurants and nightclubs. Visitors can take their family to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, home to over 1500 magnificent tropical butterflies and Cairns Tropical Zoo, home to a wide array of animals and birds. Cairns International Airport is approximately 7 km from the youth hostel.
