Located in Arenas de Cabrales, Eastern Asturias, only ten minutes drive from the Cares river Gorge and thirty minutes from the Covadonga Glacier lakes. This stands out as the perfect start point for a lovely journey through the National Park of Picos de Europa, one of the largest in the European continent.
The `Picu Urriellu´(commonly known as Naranjo de Bulnes, because the limestone turns into a orange colour at certain times of the day) is considered to be the landmark for this part of Austrias, although it is not the highest peak in the area, its tooth shape makes it special.
Arenas de Cabrales is also home the Cabrales cheese, a kind of blue cheese that ripes in cavas in the National Park and that can only be made in this part of Spain. There is museum/cave within walking distance from the hotel where you can learn the elaboration process of the Cabrales cheese and how it ends up with that peculiar smell and colour.
