With its 150-year history the Schweizerhof is the hotel with the richest heritage in Berne. Celebrities like Peter Ustinov, Grace Kelly or Albert Schweitzer stayed here. Following a two-year comprehensive renovation the hotel shines again and radiates an aura of great history and grand style. The spa is a realm of relaxation extending over 500 square metres - pamper pool, sauna and hammam facilities, as well as fitness and treatment rooms. Pure luxury!
By train: the hotel is opposite the main station. By air: Bern is 20 minutes away and Zurich is an hour and a half away. By car: take the Neufeld/Bremgarten exit. At the exit, head towards Langgasse. At the roundabout, take the third exit towards Langgasse. Continue for 1.5 km. Turn left towards Zurich/Basel/Zentrum Nord. The hotel is just after the church.
The medium sized rooms are in good condition, but in many cases would benefit from some light renovation. They are all very traditional in style. Each room has its own collection of antique furniture and ornaments, so no two rooms are the same. All offer an excellent level of comfort. The bathrooms are in very good condition.
Guests enjoy free access to the spa with an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and 24-hour gym. Massages are available for an additional fee.
