Positive: Great downtown location near the historic old quarter of Lyon (walking or mass transit) As well, very close to a subway station. Many restaurant choices within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff.

Positive: The hotel is in a very nice location in the Presqu’île (between the two rivers) near pedestrian streets with lots of shops and restaurants. It’s within easy walking distance of Old Lyon and the fine arts museum, which is a must-see. All the staff members I met were very welcoming and friendly!
Positive: Room was small but fit the bill, I got to Lyon to discover my French had accidentally booked accommodation for the wrong month, there was a room in this hotel at the last minute. In the circumstances, it was surprisingly cheap, if of course still more expensive than what we had pre-booked! The man at the desk also let us use his toilet a few hours after we had checked out when we were wondering around Lyon and couldn't find anywhere to go to the loo, that was very nice of him. Location was good for accessing the old town and pretty bits of Lyon. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Bathroom was perfectly adequate also, shower was good and had a nice water pressure and easily controllable temperature. It did leak on the floor a bit so my friend accidentally soaked his jeans.
Negative: We weren't able to check in early, which was a shame but also fair enough I suppose.
Positive: The location was exceptional. The staff was great. The room was clean.
Negative: The elevator was in the first floor. For that price at least a coffee machine would be decent to have in the room. The rest was ok.

Positive: I couldn't help but notice upon arrival a smell of soap downstairs but also throughout my room! The staff was kind and very accommodating (don't hesitate to ask, if you have any questions). It was written before that the elevator starts on the 1st floor, no surprise there, and I had no problem with a bag and my little dog, who was also welcome there! My room was clean. The city is very nice and this place is in a "chic quartier". I arrived by car and parked in the nice "Parking LPA Célestins" which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. FYI. from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. I paid a little less than €30. Overall I felt safe. Good value for money too. I would definitely come back and I recommend. Merci Hotel Elysée!

Negative: There were two flights of stairs to navigate with a heavy suitcase. The room was in the attic, with no window that opened; only a skylight that was stationary. The shower had a lot of mold and mildew.
