The Posada Royal Cartería is situated in the heart of the historic and artistic part of the medieval town of Puebla de Sanabria, in a building built in 1736, that was formerly the office of collecting tithes from the Cistercian monks and the first Post house of the region Sanabresa (hence its name). The Posada is located between the main square and surrounded by the wall of the Castle of the Counts of Benavente.
The renovation has respected the original aesthetics based on slabs of stone facades of the country, centuries-old wooden beams, oak floors and slate roof. The house retains its Sanabresian galleries and corridors that can be seen from the nearby river and the wall Tera del Castillo.
It has eight different and very spacious rooms with twin or king size beds and extra bed and baby cot, spread over 5 suites and 3 double rooms, all equipped with TV, DVD, free minibar, kettle with tea, safe strong wifi connection and bathroom with hairdryer, magnifying mirror and custom amenities in addition to hot tubs or Jacuzzis in the suites.
In every room we gave away our customers with fresh fruit and welcome snacks.

The basement dining establishment was dug into a cave in the Puebla de Sanabria, thus creating a tavern that looks out onto the walls of the old town. Traditional local dishes using local products are served, including trout from Sanabria, habon and stuffed meat with natural herbs. Lunch and dinner are available à la carte.
