As of April 1, 2021, VISITAX enters into force to facilitate the payment of the use of foreign tourism. It can be done from the web portal http://visitax.gob.mx/. Foreign tourists may cover it before their arrival or during their stay. As of January 1, 2017, tourists must pay an ISH rate per room and per night of occupancy under the concept of Environmental Sanitation Rights carried out by the municipality. This fee must be paid at the hotel.
How to arrive
From the airport , (25 min) follow the directions to leave the airport. Immediately after crossing the overpass bridge, exit to the right on to the Federal Highway 307, heading north. As you approach the city the highway will change name to Luis D. Colosio Boulevard and as you enter the city it will change names again to Avenida Tulum. Continue on the Avenida Tulum until you reach Avenida Labna. Turn left and stay on Avenida Labna as you cross Avenida Yaxchilan, Avenida Xcaret and Avenida Itzal. Immediately after Avenida Itzal, Avenida Labna becomes Avenida Tankah. Continue on Avenida Tankah until Market 28; go around the Market 28 on Avenida Xel-Ha (towards the right). You will go past the post office and Plaza Bonita (a colorful shopping center). Once you arrive at the Plaza Bonita stay to your right on Avenida Tankah heading towards Avenida Chichen Itza. The Hotel Tankah is located on your right, in front of the shopping mall Plaza Bonita.
