Four wonderful restaurants and a bar are 5 diamond awarded. Seafood fine dining, Shanghai Terrace offers contemporary Shanghainese and Cantonese cuisine including Dim Sum for lunch. The Lobby is an all day dining restaurant including the signature Peninsula Afternoon Tea plus Friday and Saturday nights, our tempting Chocolate Bar Buffet and Pierrot Gourmet which is located on the street level.
The main entrance is on 108 East Superior Street with the west side of the hotel facing North Michigan Avenue. A brand new hotel built and opened in June 2001.
The Junior Suite is 840 square feet and has a separate bedroom from its living space. These suites overlook the beautiful Magnificent Mile - Michigan Avenue. The sitting area is separated from the sleeping area with double french doors for added privacy. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room. All suites are equipped with a bedside touch panel allowing control of room temperature, lighting, TV, radio alarm clock and privacy sign. All bathrooms come with separate shower stall and a deep soaking tub with a TV on the marble wall. All rooms have high speed internet accessibility and is complimentary.

5 minute walk to the nearest metro station (howard dan ryan subway station)
Located in the heart of the city center of Chicago, right on the Magnificent Miles, the Peninsula is close to the best shopping experience along the famous North Michigan Avenue and to the various cultural and sightseeing venues such as Millennium Park, Navy Pier, museums and galleries.
Positive: The Concierge service was not good. Charging station in nightstand did not operate. Television did not operate until having to call and have it reset. Shower leaked all over bathroom floor.
Positive: Food was excellent; room service exceptional; everyone was quick and courteous. The only issue was every morning and dinnertime there was a pervasive food smell in the room.
Negative: The food smell in the room.
Positive: Awesome upscale vibe! Staff was extremely accommodating Room immaculate
Negative: The lobby restaurant food was not as good as we thought for the expense
Positive: Amazing Service and Peaceful Ambiance.
Negative: The only possible downside I could mention was the ongoing renovations of the spa. Besides that perfect stay.

Negative: Horrendous water pressure taking a shower was awful, entry to hotel is annoying with many elevators , despite sound proof rooms lots of street noise even on 9th floor, Bar Z was awful gave us cold lattes and mid food, mid atmosphere
