Margrave Karl Wilhelm was thinking of rays of sunshine when he laid the foundations in 1715 for the fan-shaped city that is Karlsruhe. The builders of this 103-room city hotel were thinking of sunshine hours when they constructed this lush oasis at the Bahnhofplatz (Station Square) in 1919. This privately-run business and conference hotel, whose façade is listed for preservation, offers an individual, personal atmosphere with attentive, professional and friendly service. Facilities include a fully air-conditioned lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel safe, cloakroom and lift access. There is a restaurant, bar, TV lounge and conference facilities on site. For an additional charge guests may use the room and laundry services, hire bicycles and use the hotel garage, parking level and outside parking facilities. Wireless Internet access is also available in public areas (fees apply).
The standard en suite (shower/bath) rooms are situated in the listed part of the hotel, are large and have a classic design. All of the centrally heated rooms come with a hairdryer, desk, cupboard, cable TV including Premiere Sport, wireless Internet, direct dial telephone with an analogue modem connection, radio alarm clock, minibar, luggage storage and a trouser press. How to arrive
This hotel is situated just next to Karlsruhe's central train station and the city's municipal park. The city centre and congress centre are only a few minutes' walk away. Guests will find restaurants and nightlife venues close by, and those looking to shop should head to the ECE Shopping Centre, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. By car, take the A5 Frankfurt-Basel or A8 from Stuttgart via Dreieck Karlsruhe to the A5 in the direction of Frankfurt, then take the exit for Karlsruhe-Mitte and traffic lights towards Kongresszentrum/Hbf-Süd.
