Padstow is a paradise for those who love seafood. Its views are pretty spectacular too, particularly from the Metropole, an imposing Victorian hotel, which stands on a hill overlooking the harbour and Camel estuary. Padstow¿s narrow streets are dotted with small colourful shops and you can find amazing antiques. All 50 bedrooms are furnished to a very high standard, and 4 poster rooms and mini suites with balconies overlooking the harbour are available at a supplementary cost. There is an attractive restaurant serving local produce or lounge bar for lighter meals and snacks. During July and August, the hotel opens its outdoor swimming pool for sole use to residents.
It is possible to book bed and breakfast or a half-board stay. A breakfast is on offer to guests each morning; lunch and the evening meal can be chosen from a set menu.
Fly from Gatwick or Stanstead into Newquay and pick up a taxi or hire car for the 20-minute drive across to Padstow. The A30 has opened up the rest of the country to Cornwall:from this dual carriageway take the A395 and A39 to Wadebridge, from the A39 take the A389 to Padstow. Follow the signs to the town centre and guests will find the hotel on the left hand side.

This historic hotel is situated at the tip of a fantastic mountain with views of the Cornish village of Padstow, one of the most enchanting fishing villages in the country, and one which is famed for its seafood. Here guests will discover a selection of shops, galleries, restaurants and bars. Padstow enjoys something of a maritime history, which may be learnt about in the local museum. Guests may sit back and watch the fishing boats return to the harbour and unload. The hotel is approximately 200 metres from the national lobster breeding grounds and links to the public transport network. The nearest sandy beach is about 10 minutes away. Plymouth airport is 75 km away, and it is 74 km from Penzance and about 13 km from the hotel.
