Positive: I was expecting a lot less for the price we paid. The bed was super complicated. Their was a kitchen with basic food for breakfast. Which was an added bonus. So close to the city. Would definitely recommend it to my friends

Negative: The skeleton keys to get into your room, noisy outside

Positive: Awesomely localized. Perfect to those who want to walk throught Edinburgh.

Positive: The location of EdinB&B was fantastic; right in the old medieval town center. Walking distance from the castle, the train station, and many eclectic local pubs. I was glad to get a ground floor room due to my knee problems. I was also pleasantly surprised by a basic breakfast in the morning.

Negative: The bathroom was shared, which wasn't ideal, but I made the choice due to the location. The shared bathroom was just outside my door, which meant that I heard people coming and going in the wee hours till morning.

Positive: I really liked how comfy the bed was and the duvet on the bed. The room had a bit of a college dorm feel but was cozy. I liked the building and appreciated the light outside the door as I arrived many times at dark and was able to easily see my keys and the lockbox. The location is great and if you are there to sightsee it's a great space to drop your stuff and see the city and then sleep somewhere. I REALLY appreciated that the shared bathroom was clean and never had anyone's hair around the place. Thank you for that.

Negative: I had a love-hate relationship with the skeleton keys that we used. I would have liked to have them color-marked to know which one was for my room and which one was for the other doors. I got to my room at 11 pm one night and I fumbled with the keys for 5 minutes trying to figure out which key was which and that felt really noisy and disruptive. I didn't really feel the breakfast part was adequate. I would have liked to see some yogurt options in the fridge or even a bit more fruit. It felt a little bare bones on the part of the B & "B "commitment, tbh. The walls were a bit thin in that I could hear the person next door snoring, but I couldn't hear people moving around much.

Positive: Excellent

Negative: All was great

Positive: I like the communication from the staff and the response to our questions. pretty much I like everything, if something was needed you didn't have to ask because they pay attention to details.

Negative: I noticed, some travelers were strangely with the keys to open both front door and building door but other than that. everything when will.

Positive: Very private, no interaction needed to check in.

Negative: Check out time is inconveniently early, I get that they need to clean the rooms but check out is 9:30 am and check in is 14:00. Way too early.

Positive: Location

Negative: Too small, no windows, like staying in a dungeon. Bad was horrible! Room key was horrible! If ever a fire trying to use the skeleton key to just get out of your room would be detrimental for quick escape! Dead bolt missing so used a fork and knife to slide across. Doors slamming at all hours. Won’t be back!

Positive: Extremely clean and tidy. The owners have thought of every need the visitors could have. Very thoughtful.

Negative: Would have been great to be able to wash some clothes.

Positive: Price, location, fantastic. It was a little hobbit hole. Very clean. I was in the basement so no window, but no problem. Nice common room.

Negative: Nothing. It was exactly what was advertised.

Positive: Clean, and nice shower/bathrooms. Loved having breakfast available.

Negative: Didn’t find the beds comfortable unfortunately.

Positive: This property has a great location. It’s just pretty bare bones in terms of facilities and amenities, but at the price and given the location that’s probably to be expected. They give you one towel upon check in and there are two shared bathrooms, one up and one down. The rooms have one bed, a small loveseat (not in the best shape, and not very comfortable), two small nightside tables and a lamp/outlets. Everything seemed clean, including the shared bathrooms which had a shower, soap etc but again, bare bones. The breakfast included was fine for what I needed as I’m not a big breakfast person, but it was cereal (there was milk), eggs (you had to cook yourself—there was supplies to do so in the kitchen), and bananas. There was also coffee and tea with sugar if you wanted that. All in all, it was fine for what I needed but I could see how some people may not be into it.

Negative: Shared bathroom was probably the biggest negative, although I actually never had an issue with it being used when I wanted to use it. It’s more just a comfort thing.

Positive: You can't beat the location, and the price was low...the roof didn't leak, and there weren't any bugs or mice. The instructions were clear, and it was easy to access. The included breakfast is decent, and the kitchen is a nice touch.

Negative: Our primary complaint is the sewage smell. It was nauseating. I didn't even want to use the shower or bathroom. My memory of our visit to Edinburgh will always be associated with sewage, which may be the authentic Cowgate experience one may wish for...but it was just a little too icky for me. The rooms are basic and small, like a convent. Good for the price in a major city, though!?

Positive: Excellent location, minutes to Royal Mile. Host was very responsive and really flexible. Much appreciated the breakfast food options.

Positive: Very accommodation to our needs

Positive: All you need in a bnb at this price range- comfy bed, nicely stocked kitchen and clean bathrooms. Location was bang on center. Bar the tiniest things, would definitely stay again.

Negative: Room had very bright emergency exit sign above door (the room is small so very noticable) - not sure, but assume this is a legal requirement they can't change, just a nuisance. Only provided one very small towel per person - definitely workable given shared bathroom is spacious to change in, body towel would just have been preferred. Both things very, very minor.

Positive: Comfy and good for the price.

Negative: Maybe one more toilet.
