How to arrive
This hotel is located in Kamari,Avis street, near the black sandy beach of Kamari (around 500 m away). The centre of Fira is 9 km away.

Negative: I don’t like this hotel , it’s not clean , the jacuzzi was so dirty full of insects , the bed sheets hadn’t been changed day by day , the breakfast everyday the same and very limited food and the location is very far from the center

Positive: Loved how welcoming all staff were, the cleanliness of having our towels and floor mat changed daily, breakfast was pretty good- a variety was offered which I loved. I loved that I was able to rent a car last minute with the receptionist and it was ready within 5minutes. Things were so smooth and walking to Kamari beach and “Downtown” Kamari was within 10min of walking distance.
Positive: We absolutely loved this Hotel. Loved having a relaxing area to sleep in. Felt safe, the breakfast buffet was delicious. Beds are super comfortable. It is very clean and well kept. Very nice pool too . Less than a mile walk from Kamari town . The shops in Kamari had the best prices I saw in comparison to Thira and Oia. Bus stop is about 1/2 mile to visit other cities for 2$ per person. So, for us, excellent location and a fantastic price. It was exactly what we were looking forward to. Perfect for our budget and vacation plans.

Positive: Hotel Makarios has a very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. They answered all questions fast and can also give all the information to getting around the island, finding tours or rentals, if you want etc. Hotell was situated near Kamari beach, which has nice restaurants and beach area. The room was very clean and quiet (didn't even hear the planes getting up and landing at the nearby airport).
Negative: Buses go from Kamari to move around the island. Still, unless you take a rental, you need to be prepared to walk a little, to get around - about 10 min to the beach area or main bus stop. Also, not all the rooms are with the view as on the pictures, but we even had a seaview and didn't mind the airport view aside it 😊

Negative: our room was orientated to the airport that is nearby and sometimes there was noise from the landings , we stayed 4 days and the breakfast was the same , it was good , but the same 95 % .

Positive: It had a ping pong and pool also the front desk can help with making reservations for tours and rental cars/scooters. The hotel was just close enough that it gave me a work out but didn't feel I was dying to get to the beach.
Negative: I didn't know about the rental cars and scooters till my last day. My fault because I came in the middle of the night and just wanted a key but would have been nice to get a heads up in the little binder in the room.
