For the hotel restaurant, open from Sunday evening to Friday evening, the chef prepares traditional French favourites such as Auvergnat salad and tropical sole. Also worth seeing are the Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral, constructed entirely out of black lava stone, the Bargoin Archaeology Museum, and a Romanesque church called the Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port. Many visitors enjoy day trips outside the city to see the Puy-de-Dôme volcano, where there is a new attraction called Vulcania.
