Mendez with its outdoor concerts, market and handicraft stalls. Don't miss the Museo Tamux- the state's Museum of Natural History. Ciudad Victoria is also known as the "Birding Capital" and is the host of the annual Birding Festival. An hour or two away, you can enjoy natural wonders such as the Centro Recreativo "Los Troncones", an ecological park with a crystalline stream surrounded by trees and numerous bird species. Or visit the Reserva Ecologico El Cielo, another ecological reserve at the foot of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Ciudad Victoria also acts as a base for sportsmen heading to Lake Vicente Guerrero known for incredible Black Bass fishing. Or if you prefer the ocean, the Gulf Beaches are only an hour and a half away.
